While earning my diploma in Early Childhood Education from Algonquin College, I entered the world of licensed child care to explore my passion for early education + care.

By day you can find me working in licensed child care as an educator. By night, I’m supporting the other super heroes who work with children to live well, be well + do well.

Hi!  I'm Rachelle

my story

Originally from Dunnville, Ontario I moved to Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 19 to pursue the opportunity to join a non-profit organization called Absolute Leadership Development (now called Live Different).

Our mission ... to spread hope and purpose to students across Canada to discover their innate worth and value. This experience shaped the person and educator that I am today.

After my touring days ended, I settled in Hamilton, Ontario for 13 years. I knew I wanted to continue my work with children and youth, and I became a professional nanny. From there my passion grew!

Reading, reading, reading everything I could get my hands on about child growth, development and program planning. The more I read the more passionate I became!

At the age of 23, I enrolled in the ECE program at Algonquin College and began to work in licensed child care. I was thrilled to be there! However, in my first year of college, my health declined. The stress of working and being in school both full-time and poor lifestyle habits was a recipe for disaster. My long-term relationship ended and I was devastated.

This is when my personal development journey began to flourish. Determined to find physical, mental and emotional wellness, I began to read, research and make small consistent changes that added up to big results!

I continued to work with what I call my personal support team (yoga teachers, counsellor, coach, personal trainer + dietician) to find my version of wellness.

My unwavering love and passion for children motivated me to continue to grow and develop.

In 2019, I relocated to the Niagara region to be closer to my family. And I noticed a common thread throughout child care  ... the field of education is in need of more discussion around educator wellbeing.

I took action and continued my education + training to be able to create the Mindful Education platform. A one stop shop to support educator wellness in body, mind and soul to live well, be well + do well.

Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.
